چکیده

A bstract In this work, we discuss the possibility to test Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs) using “Cosmic Ray Beam Dump” experiments. analogy with terrestrial beam dump experiments, where a first hits target and is then absorbed by shield, consider high-energy incident cosmic rays impinging on Earth’s atmosphere surface. We focus here HNL production from atmospherically produced kaon, pion D -meson decays, possible explanation of appearing Cherenkov showers observed SHALON telescope ultra-high energy events detected neutrino experiment ANITA. show that these observations can not be explained long-lived HNL, as relevant parameter space excluded existing constraints. On Neutrino Production of Heavy Neutral Leptons*

Production of heavy neutral leptons by p -.type neutrinos is inves tigated in the framework of a strangeness-conserving neutral current model, ati the analysis is applied to the Ramm effect. The failure to observe such heavy leptons in the K-meson decay spectrum is easily understood, but the large charged current coupling strength required in the heavy lepton decay (well above the universal val...

Neutral Heavy Leptons and Electroweak Baryogenesis

We investigate the possibility that baryogenesis occurs during the weak phase transition in a minimal extension of the Standard Model which contains extra neutral leptons and conserves total lepton number. The necessary CP-violating phases appear in the leptonic Yukawa couplings. We compute the CP-asymmetries in both the neutral and the charged lepton fluxes reflected in the unbroken phase. Usi...

A Search for Neutral Heavy Leptons

In e+eannihilations at SPEAR we have searched for narrow neutral resonances in the eT and ~.ln channels for masses between .5 GeV/c 2 and 1.5 GeV/c2. No evidence for such states has been found. Under standard theoretical assumptions for production cross sections and decay branching ratios of heavy leptons a lower limit of 1.2 GeV/c 2 can be set on the mass. *FJork supported by the Energy Resear...

Search for Neutral Heavy Leptons in a High-Energy Neutrino Beam

A search for neutral heavy leptons (NHLs) has been performed using an instrumented decay channel at the NuTeV (E-815) experiment at Fermilab. The data were examined for NHLs decaying into muonic nal states (, ee, , and); no evidence has been found for NHLs in the 0.25-2.0 GeV mass range. This analysis places limits on the mixing of NHLs with standard light neutrinos at a level up to an order of...

RIGHT-HANDED NEUTRAL HEAVY LEPTONS IN e+e- ANNIHILATION?*

The experimental implications of neutral heavy leptons N in e+eannihilation are examined. We calculate the production rate of both right-handed and left-handed N’s at SPEAR and PEP/PETRA energies and show that observation of the process e+e+ TN, N e (or /~)7r allows the determination of both the mass and handedness of N.
